PRP Treatment

PRP Treatment: Natural Skin Rejuvenation for a Healthy and Youthful Appearance

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma, meaning that a purified and concentrated component of blood called plasma is used. Immediately after blood collection, the sample is processed to isolate its most valuable components. Platelet-rich plasma protein concentrate is obtained by centrifuging the blood to separate red blood cells and has exceptional regenerative properties.

This treatment is 100% natural. It can be applied to the entire face or specific areas of the face, as well as the neck, décolletage, and hands, either separately or simultaneously. The treatment stimulates a cascade reaction that gradually increases over time, which is why results do not appear immediately but develop progressively. PRP works both superficially and deeply within the skin. Treatment protocols depend on the indication and overall skin condition.

PRP Treatment Procedure

Blood collection: A small amount of blood is drawn from the arm.

The tube containing your blood is placed into a medical centrifuge, which separates the blood into layers. One of these layers contains a high concentration of platelets which, once injected, release various growth factors. Your dermatologist then injects this concentrated plasma into the face or scalp using a needle or microneedling technique.

The entire PRP treatment procedure usually takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour.

Candidates for PRP Treatment

One of the advantages of PRP facial rejuvenation is that it is suitable for almost everyone. Anti-aging creams and topical products can sometimes cause unpleasant side effects depending on skin type, allergies, and other factors. In contrast, the “Vampire Facial” uses your body’s own blood, eliminating the possibility of allergic reactions.

Since PRP comes from your own body, there is no risk of rejection because it is not considered a foreign substance.

Although PRP is considered safe for most people, it is not recommended for individuals with:

  • Hepatitis C
  • HIV or AIDS
  • Any type of blood cancer
  • Cardiovascular disease requiring blood-thinning medication
  • Skin cancer in the treatment area

These conditions can affect platelet function and reduce the effectiveness of treatment.

What Is PRP Used For?

  • Acne scars
  • Hyperpigmentation concerns
  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improving skin firmness
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Patients seeking a non-invasive aesthetic treatment
  • Dry skin

Home Care After PRP Treatment

Your skin may appear red on the day of treatment, and this usually subsides within a few days. It is recommended not to cleanse the skin or apply skincare products or makeup on the day of treatment.

The following day, natural mineral makeup can usually be applied, allowing you to return to normal activities. The next morning, you can cleanse your skin with a gentle cleanser and apply skincare products free from harsh chemicals.

Your practitioner will recommend the most suitable home care routine to complement the treatment. Mild skin dryness may occur during the following week to ten days, so regular hydration is important while avoiding exfoliation for at least ten days.

What to Expect After PRP Treatment

Growth factors from platelet-rich plasma stimulate stem cell activation, encouraging the skin to produce new collagen, new blood vessels, and healthy new cells.

This process takes place over approximately 4–8 weeks after treatment. During this period, the skin gradually becomes healthier, fuller, smoother, and more youthful.

For most patients, three treatments performed at intervals of 4–6 weeks provide optimal results.

The Vampire Facial offers a natural alternative to injections such as fillers and muscle relaxants by improving cell quality and promoting healthier, fresher-looking skin. Younger-looking skin can be achieved with minimal downtime and without synthetic chemicals.
