ORTHOPAEDICS
Prof. dr. sc. Darko Antičević
Orthopedic specialist with a narrow specialization in pediatric orthopedics, full professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Health, University of Osijek. He graduated and received his PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb, where he gained many years of clinical and academic experience.
His area of scientific interest includes applied biomechanics, genetics, osteogenesis imperfecta and rare diseases of the hip, foot, bones and joints in childhood. He has trained in leading world centers such as Oxford, Basel and New York (Hospital for Joint Diseases, NYU), and regularly participates in education in pediatric orthopedics across Europe.
He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers and chapters in textbooks, a participant in numerous international projects and a mentor to numerous residents and students. He served as the president of the Croatian Society for Pediatric Orthopedics, as well as the president of the European Society for Pediatric Orthopedics (EPOS).
He has received numerous awards, including the "Ladislav Rakovac" award of the Croatian Medical Association and honorary membership of the Croatian Orthopedic Society. He is a full member of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences.
In addition to his rich clinical and academic career, he is actively involved in humanitarian work, providing medical assistance to children in Honduras, Kazakhstan, and Ecuador.
